At Parrett & Axe we use Tapestry, a secure online learning journal, to record and share the experiences, progress, and achievements of our youngest learners during their time in Corfe Class.

What is Tapestry?

Tapestry is an interactive platform used primarily in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It allows teachers and parents to build a rich picture of each child’s learning journey through photos, videos, and written observations.

How We Use Tapestry

  • In School: Staff capture special moments of learning, play, and progress in the classroom and outdoors. These observations are linked to the Early Years curriculum so that we can track development in all key areas.

  • At Home: Parents and carers can log in securely to see what their child has been learning, celebrate achievements, and even add their own observations from home. This helps create a strong partnership between school and families.

  • Together: Sharing learning in this way encourages children to talk about their activities at home and builds a sense of pride and confidence in their progress.

Benefits of Tapestry

  • Provides parents with regular insights into their child’s learning.

  • Encourages strong home–school links, with parents actively contributing to their child’s learning journal.

  • Creates a complete record of development during the early years of school.

  • Secure and password-protected, ensuring children’s data is safe.

Getting Started

Parents are provided with a secure log-in when their child joins our EYFS class. Tapestry can be accessed through the website or via the free app (available on iOS and Android). If you need support accessing Tapestry, please speak to your child’s teacher or the school office.
