We’re thrilled to give our children the best start in their reading journey with the Little Wandle Phonics Programme! This exciting, research-based approach helps children build strong phonics skills, grow in confidence, and develop a real love of reading both for information and pleasure.
What is Little Wandle?
Little Wandle is a systematic phonics programme designed to help children become confident, fluent readers from an early age. It provides a clear, structured approach to teaching phonics and reading skills, with plenty of practice and support built in.
How Parents Can Help at Home
-
Read together every day – Encourage your child to share what they’ve learned and enjoy stories together.
-
Listen to your child read – Celebrate their progress and gently help them sound out tricky words.
-
Talk about books – Ask questions, make predictions, and discuss favourite parts to build comprehension skills.
-
Stay positive – Confidence is key! Praise their efforts and celebrate every success.
By working together, we can help every child develop a love of reading that will stay with them for life.
