Our School Day
The school day starts at 8:30am with registration promptly at 8:40am and finishes at 3:00pm which amounts to 32.5 hours per week.
Worships
We have a daily act of worship either first thing in the morning or at the end of the school day. On Wednesday afternoons, we are fortunate to welcome Reverend David, who leads worship for the whole school. Every Friday afternoon, we hold our Celebration Worship, where a student from each class is awarded Student of the Week, recognising effort, kindness, and achievement; parents are warmly invited to attend. Once a term, the whole school walks together to the church for a service, marking the occasion with shared worship and a strong sense of community.
Morning Playtimes & Lunch
Children have a morning break from 10:15 to 10:30am. Healthy snacks are encouraged to be eaten at break time.
Lunchtime runs from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Key Stage 1 children eat first while Key Stage 2 enjoy playtime, and then the groups swap over. This routine allows everyone plenty of time to eat, relax, and play with friends before the afternoon’s learning begins.
The hot school lunches are provided by Local Food Links, a friendly Dorset-based not-for-profit school catering company, who have been serving nutritious meals since 2006. Pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 eat free! Some older students may also qualify, to find out more, please visit here. Meals must be ordered 7 days in advance.
Parents may of course also choose to send their child to school with a healthy packed lunch each day.
Drop-off & Collection
The school gates open at 8:30 am for parents to drop their children off, giving everyone plenty of time to settle in before lessons begin. In the afternoon, the gates reopen at 3:00 pm, when teachers bring the children out from their classrooms to meet parents.
If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let the office know. This avoids any confusion or upset.
